Our Editorial Mission
1xBT was founded on the principle that sports fans deserve analysis produced by independent journalists who prioritise accuracy, transparency, and genuine education — not content engineered to maximise referral commissions or drive traffic at the expense of quality.
Our editorial team operates under a strict separation from our commercial relationships. Writers and analysts are not compensated based on clicks, affiliate conversions, or traffic generated by their articles. Their only mandate is to produce the most accurate, well-reasoned, and useful sports analysis possible.
Analytical Methodology
Every match preview, tactical breakdown, and competition analysis published on 1xBT follows a consistent editorial process:
1. Primary source research. Our analysts review official league data, club communications, and verified injury reports before writing. We do not publish analysis based solely on social media speculation.
2. Statistical verification. All statistics referenced in our articles are verified against primary sources — official league databases, established sports analytics providers, or on-record press conference quotes — before publication.
3. Structured editorial framework. Match previews follow a consistent structure: competition context, form analysis, tactical assessment, key individual matchups, and an analytical outlook. This structure ensures comprehensive coverage and prevents selective presentation of information.
4. Peer review. Major analysis pieces are reviewed by a second editor before publication, checking for factual accuracy and editorial balance.
5. Corrections policy. When we publish incorrect information, we correct it promptly with a clearly marked editor's note in the article. We do not silently delete errors.
6. Update cycle. Previews are published as close to match time as reasonably possible to reflect the most current team news. We update articles when significant new information (e.g., late injury confirmations) becomes available.
Affiliate Disclosure & How We're Funded
1xBT sustains its operations, in part, through affiliate marketing partnerships. When a reader clicks a link to a third-party platform on 1xBT and completes a qualifying action, we may receive a financial commission.
What this means in practice: Affiliate commissions are received after publication, and never influence the content, editorial tone, or assessments we publish. The presence of an affiliate link is always disclosed — you will see a clear disclosure notice wherever affiliate links appear.
We reference platforms and services we consider relevant to our readership, whether or not an affiliate relationship exists. A commercial relationship does not protect any platform from honest editorial assessment, and does not guarantee coverage.
What we do not do: We do not accept payment for positive coverage or 'sponsored verdicts' that are not clearly labelled as sponsored. We do not allow our commercial team to see article drafts before publication. We do not suppress negative findings in exchange for commercial relationships.
Editorial Independence
The 1xBT editorial team operates with full independence from commercial operations. Concretely:
Funding separation: Commercial revenue does not flow to editorial staff as performance bonuses tied to traffic, click-through rates, or affiliate conversions.
No PR dependence: We do not publish club press releases, agent statements, or sponsored content as news without clear labelling. All significant claims are independently verified.
Source confidentiality: We protect the identity of sources who provide information under confidentiality.
Corrections: Material factual errors are corrected with transparency. We do not silently amend articles to avoid accountability.
Not Financial or Wagering Advice
1xBT is a journalism and education platform. Nothing we publish constitutes:
Personalised wagering, gambling, or betting advice
Financial or investment recommendations
A selection, tip, or prediction intended to influence any financial decision
Our editorial assessments reflect the informed opinions of our team at a specific point in time. Sporting outcomes are inherently uncertain. No analytical framework — however rigorous — can reliably predict sports results. Readers who engage in any form of wagering or financial activity do so on the basis of their own independent judgment and at their own risk.
Editorial Team Standards
All editorial contributors to 1xBT are required to:
Declare any financial interest in clubs, leagues, or events they cover, before beginning an assignment
Disclose any relationship with clubs, agents, or commercial entities relevant to their coverage
Adhere to this editorial policy in full, with violations reviewed by the editor-in-chief
Author bios, including declared affiliations, are published on each author's profile page and updated regularly.
